Who is Samuel Taradash?

He's me. I'm him.

By day I work with images and page layout, and plot the integration of editing and print workflows via multichannel CMS.

At night I try to do a little bit of creative stuff. Which usually means writing, and sometimes reading.
(Performing, that is. Aloud and in public, even.)

It's a pretty good life, really.

Hey, that's supposed to be my face. What am I, the lost heir of splatopia?

Work

I've lived and worked in California and Japan, but the 2010's find me based in London. At various times, I've been a security guard, child-wrangler, archivist and document shredder.

More recently I've done a fair amount of work in QuarkXPress and InDesign, along with the Illustrator and Photoshop stuff needed to back that up.

These days, though, I'm doing a lot of work on a content management system to organize a database of print material, and to smooth out the editing and revision process. (Which is just barely more glamorous than it sounds.)

But it means I've also got experience working with Contensis and Tridion, and in plotting how to get material from a writer's brain, through a multi-step editorial review, and finally to print and internet distribution.
If you want to talk work stuff, you probably ought to try via linkedin.

The Special Relationship

Since 2010 I've been working with Jarred McGinnis and Tom Basden to put on a monthly show called The Special Relationship, presented in co-operation with Yarnfest. It's a night celebrating storytelling that combines fiction, poetry and journalism read live, along with short film and comedy. Previous guests have included Toby Litt, Josie Long, Aoiffe Mannix, Matthew Robbins, Joe Dunthorne, Isy Sutty, Tim Wells, Colin Grant and Sam Knight.

Oh yeah, I read there too. But usually not with this accent.
